RBKEI’s Kanakia Kids is a new-age preschool in Mumbai which focuses on play-based learning to imbibe curiosity and encourage cognitive, social, physical, and emotional skills in the kids.

The vision of our Founder, the late Smt Ramabai Babubhai Kanakia, to offer affordable quality education, became reality on 7th June 2000. Under the aegis of The Babubhai Trust, Bhoomi Pujan was performed with the blessings of our Guru Pujaniya Shri Morari Bapu.

From its inception, the school has grown into a premier institute. The well-lit and airy classrooms are equipped with SMART boards which ensure that all learning is technology-driven. Fully equipped Science Labs and Computer Labs provide students with hands-on experience.

A choice of sports activities like Football, Basketball, Throw Ball, Tennis, Karate, and Judo is on offer in addition to Vedic Maths and Universal Concept Mental Arithmetic System (UCMAS). Performing arts like Instrumental Music, Western and Indian Dance, Creative Writing, and Drawing classes are conducted on weekends.

PRIMARY SECTION

Classes I – V

The curriculum at this stage is designed to promote healthy study habits among the learners. Apart from the essential emphasis on the 4 R’s (namely – reading, writing, recitation & arithmetic) students also develop skills of discovery, observation, classification, collection, drawing inferences and the like. Subjects like English, Hindi, Mathematics, Computers, Sports, Yoga / CORE and Western Music for Grade 1 to 8, Value Education and Counselling sessions are part of our daily class time-table. The environment is conducive for learning in a natural and exploratory way. Participation in co-curricular activities is encouraged to ensure overall development in every child.

Classes VI – VIII

The methodology adopted in this level enhances cognitive skills like recognition, discrimination, analysis & problem solving which develop higher-order thinking and reasoning abilities. At this stage, we lay emphasis on learning by doing through projects, presentations, group discussions, and debates. Communication skills – both oral and written- along with proficiency in Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science are stressed. Computer Literacy is part of the daily curriculum and is given weight so as to ensure that our students are technology savvy and keep pace with the changing times. Music, Art, and Physical Education develop and groom a child aesthetically. Evaluation is both continuous and comprehensive which clearly reflects the progress of the child.
